Pretty sure things like shields, manual blocking, rolling, etc is impossible. I believe this was asked awhile ago and Agra talked about it, just not sure where on this thread. PSU JP actually got a lot of the PSP2/i techs such as Na-Grants, Grants, and Sa-Techs as well as a few others I believe (can't remember them all, it's been awhile).

Not necessarily "impossible", but vanishingly unlikely.

Generally speaking, the following things from PSP2 are either guaranteed or extremely likely (even if they may work differently from in PSP2):
New weapons in existing categories (except collabs--no Miku's Leek). Quite a lot of these were added online on JP PSU, a few more were added to the client but never released; these are both valid (additionally, a few items were added to PSU despite not being in any of the PSP games, these are also in).
New outfits/hairstyles (same caveat about collabs).
New techs (except Diverse): Foverse, Sabarta, Sazonde, Grants, Damgrants, Nagrants, Samegid.
New PAs: Grand Crusher, Bogga Ranpa, Dus Skadd, Cyclone Dance, Anga Grudda, Blade Destruction, Soujin Ranbu-shou, Sougacho Sekka, Infinite Storm, Shisoku Tenkai-zan, Shusou Retsuzan-ga, Vivi Dezza, Retsuzan Souhi-jin, Rekku Chouhi-jin.
New areas: Seabed RELICS, Sacred Ark Crowley, Coast, Inhelt Laboratory, Ohtori Castle, Mt. Elbars, Crodog Jungle.
New SUVs.
New unit visuals.

Hmm. Been a bit distracted the past couple weeks, but it's been a while, good time for a new mission pack. Anyone have any preferences on what should be in it? Thanks to all the work I did on the last one, we're not restricted to 3 missions * 4 difficulties any more, we can have entire missions, but still no rare missions.

so what about the new PA magic in psp2i? and charged shots for guns? i mean that shouldn't be to difficult to add in if i'm not mistaken charged shots were at least 2X normal damage and 2nd level charged shots were 3X normal damage and more based of chain length hoping that's not gonna be added:x as for manual blocking & rolling hows it impossible? guarding without shields is 30% damage reduction and with one was 80% damage reduction & rolling made you temporarily invincible to get past traps or evade.
before i get carried away will the 36 PA limit be removed really hated having to constantly switch PAs :x also when will servers be back up? i cant wait to get back!:D also don't suppose duuman race will be in this :)? or any race variants will there because i know duumans are just humans who survived the seed infection namely because huyga is one in psp2i and its not too farfeched to say the that there isn't a beast or Newman variant but im just saying it'd be pretty sweet :D!

forgot to ask but will upgrading still be a pain with needing grinders or will it be like the portable 2 with meseta?

If you think of something you want to add to your post while you're still the most recent post, please edit it, rather than making another reply.

Charged shots, rolling, and manually blocking (and shields) are unlikely. I have some thoughts on how they could be done, but... I'd be trying to recreate them from scratch, and it's unfortunately very solidly in the not easy category. (The new PAs and techs, except Diverse, are in, see my previous post.)

Left4lol2 wrote:before i get carried away will the 36 PA limit be removed really hated having to constantly switch PAs :x

I'm considering trying to raise the learned PA limit, but that'll break save compatibility (as in, you won't be able to bring in your AotI characters). In other words... maybe, but there'll be a cost if it happens.

Left4lol2 wrote:also when will servers be back up? i cant wait to get back!:D

That's not me. You'll have to check in here for that.

As of right now, I'm not planning on messing with the list of races. Maybe someday; it's not impossible, it's just very low priority (especially with how difficult it'd be to add Infinity Blasts).

There's actually enough Ohtori to make an entire mission pack of only it. We'll see if anyone else has any other ideas.

(Techs will require a full client update, and I'm trying to hold off on that until I get weapon stats in and a few other things.)

I'm all for Ohtori, that's probably the mission I ran more than any other. Though I would think it would be pretty hard, enemies hit like a tank.

Only playing the English psu any mission would be fine and new but you seem to have everything for Ohtori so I'm in. And on the pa limit increase I at least have no problems starting over unless that is the only problem that would cause it and even then do what needs doing. Your doing a real good job on this mod and I'm not sure it's all necessary for offline. I don't know how to break this up into paragraph's so sorry about the mess.

Starting over won't bother me much, I've done everything in the vanilla game and all I'd really be missing is a Holy Ray I had to cheat into my inventory because it dropped on the wrong character. :v

Yeah I don't think anyone really cares about having to start over. I mean leveling PAs, Bullets, and Techs should be easier anyway (that's the only reason I can see for not wanting to start over, and even then only the Techs on vanilla take forever to level)

I agree with everyone else : I also don't think it would bother someone to start over, especially if we consider this mode will provide a brand new experience. It'd be bad/sad to start with an imported high lvl char.

And to break save compatibility with the vanilla game may render things easier for you, and maybe let you implement other changes.

I know it's been awhile since you've broached this subject, but I'm a bit behind on subjects already discussed, and I wanted to come back on one which is important to me : music.

I don't want to talk (yet ?) about which music could be used for this mission/event/lobby/etc... But about what the game will include.

I don't have a proper list of music file (for exemple, I can't say for sure which file corresponds to "xa_bgm008.adx"), but I do know there are some duplicates (for example, 5ca355ff67a177563c0be89256f82a9d & 84165eab3e9f115722b1f4881d5cd9f5 ; and the game uses the 1st one), some extracts (like you mentionned, the 10 seconds loop of "Comedy", 8607b4c0e0078d329fb38280caea8da2, is taken from 3df90dc2a25de0e6085839c3d2bc6cab), the two empty slots, etc...

If you want to keep the 10 seconds loop of Comedy, instead of using 8607b... Would it be possible to use 3df90... And to tell to the game to start at 1:13, to end at 1:27 and to restart at 1:14 ?
And then to use the 8607b... for something else ?
Do you know how many slots could be "emptied" ?
And do you think it'd be a good idea to save one slot or two for Clementine, as temporary music slots for event ?

Oh ! And for an upcoming mission pack, I don't have a request. In fact, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think we will have to wait too long to see your mod - or at least the part that contains missions - available ; and I don't want to get to much content released before the final version is available (that would remains me how SEGA spoiled us by revealing 4 of the 5/6 new environments in PSP2 before the game was released...). I understand it may be frustrating for people who have never played to PSU JP online (or PSP2/2i), but I think it'd be better to preserve some surprises. Maybe, you can only release missions available in the PSP2/2i trial version (but that would exclude Othori Castle).

TBH, till you don't release The Eternal Cycle, I'd be ok with any choice (and if you release it, I'll just have to don't download it, but it'll be hard for me to resist...).
